Social good app of the year

Donor engagement can be defined in a variety of ways, one of which is to engage through gaming.  Hey, it never hurts to deliver your message within the context of having a little bit of fun.

South Carolina based Rice Bowls received Facebook’s 2015 recognition for social good app of the year.  Rice Bowls created a game called Hunger Crunch that takes participants on a journey to rid the world of hunger.

Players have the option to make purchases throughout the game with 100% of in-game purchases directed toward food programs in the orphanages that Rice Bowls supports.

The beauty about tech-philanthropy is that the organizations’ message is reaching an audience not typically targeted through other solicitation channels.  To check out the game, click on the image above.
